After dropping off my things in my dorm, we tried to figure out what to do but also ran into Riko and her friend Akari (both from Japan) and decided to go to the meeting at a chapel even though we didn't have to.
Pretty much no one recognized me with my haircut so I had to reintroduce myself every time I saw someone.
After registration, we left to try and find our dorms. Almost right after I walked out and down the sidewalk a bit, I saw my friend Denise from Ecuador. I split up with my parents and went with her to the dorms.
when we got there at 8:15, we had no idea where we were going because we had to park all the way on the other side of the campus. And to walk the way across is bad for my parents cuz they cant walk well. We got help eventually and we were told to just drive the car up to the main building but to take it back at a better time.
I had to wake up at 4am, so i got sleep right? Wrong. I got about 1 and a 1/2 hours of sleep before getting in the car and starting our 2.5-3 hour trip to Calvin...Yay. Needless to say I slept the whole ride.
All Rotary students are required to go to Calvin College for the last conference before you leave as an outbound/inbound and when you return. Lots happened. Tears shed when I was miles away from all of my friends. Pics to come.
Helllllooooo, my names tired and im on my way home from a stressful Chicago experience. So everything was fine until we saw the legendary traffic there. After driving in circles downtown for a half hour, we gave up looking for food and found our hotel. We settled our stuff and headed back out to find a panda express... Only to walk in circles looking for it like before. When we finished, me and my friend Kayle went to walk around some stores that were near and on the way back. On our way were going to a store when a man stops us and gives us these bracelettes and wishing our family peace. At first we were confused but then we just smiled and nodded and were going to go in the store but he stopped us again. He asked us to put our names to be put down then asked for a donation for a temple (not sure but he was a monk or in training?¿?) so we were going to give him a few dollars and he said "donation" while tapping on the number 20 from a previous donation. We looked at each other and shook our heads and told them man we couldnt give anymore. Long story short but he made out with $10 from each of us amd an extra $5 from my friend from giving the wrong change back and several failed attempts of returning our braclettes and peace for our families.

I've been going to Rotary meetings often these days; it's pretty much the same every wednesday, I go around 11:05-11:15 and get back around 1:30-1:40. The people in the meetings are nice and welcome me each week too.
